La Chapelle d'Abondance is a traditional, unspoilt mountain village, with a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. This family-friendly destination also benefits from all the modern-day facilities you would expect and is open all-year-round, offering numerous, exciting sports and leisure activities right on your doorstep, without losing the charm of the small and pretty village. For a wider variety of shops, the bigger village of Châtel is just 5 minutes' drive away, as is the large Intermarche supermarket.
The village is located is just one hour's drive from Geneva airport, 1 hour's drive from the railway stations at Cluses and Aigle (Switzerland) , and approximately 8 hours drive from Calais, 8.5 hours from Zeebrugge.
From La Chapelle d'Abondance, the local ski pass offers great value for money covering the Cret Berni, La Panthiaz and Torgon ski areas. There are future plans to link the skiing here with that of Abondance too! Add to this the easy access to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area - with over 650km of piste, making this the largest ski domaine in the world, linking 14 pretty villages in France and Switzerland and the region offers a snow paradise. The proximity of Mont Blanc ensures a long winter season and the 430 graded pistes, 4 snow-cross areas, 9 snow-parks, including the boarder's 'paradise' at Avoriaz plus hundreds of kilometres of free-ride, ensure skiing and boarding for every ability.

Lake Geneva is only 30 minutes' drive from La Chapelle d'Abondance with all the water-sports you would expect to find on such a vast expanse of water.
