The small village of Essert Romand offers the best of both worlds - a peaceful location just minutes away from Morzine and all the shops, restaurants and activities that you could wish for. This pretty and tranquil village offers the facility to ski the vast Portes du Soleil ski area, by taking a short navette ride right to the centre of Morzine.  From here you have access to over 650km of piste, making this the largest ski domaine in the world, linking 14 pretty villages in France and Switzerland.  The proximity of Mont Blanc ensures a long winter season and the 430 graded pistes, including the boarder's 'paradise' at Avoriaz plus hundreds of kilometres of free-ride, ensure skiing and boarding for every ability.  In addition to the Alpine skiing there are 243km of cross-county trails.

Small though it is, in the village you will find a pizza- take-away and an excellent restaurant (Le Petit Auberge) and there is a baker's on the road towards Morzine.  In the other direction, towards St Jean d'Aulps, there is a large 'Champion' supermarket for all your daily shopping needs.

As well as the superb skiing and boarding, Morzine offers a diverse variety of activities including heli-skiing, glacier walking,  ice-climbing, horse-drawn sleigh-rides, parapenting, ice-skating, ice-hockey, tobogganing and snow-mobile to name but a few!

Summer

When the winter ends and the snow melts, the fun does not stop in this warm and friendly region.  Graded mountain-biking trails from Les Gets, golf courses at both Les Gets and Avoriaz, kayaking, white-water rafting and canyoning on the nearby River Dranse, climbing and walking, fishing and tennis - plus 'Fantasticable' -  the exhilarating zip-glide, the only one of its kind in the Alps -  are just a few activities on offer locally during the lively summer season. Children are very well catered for with the Indiana Park high in the trees, adventure parks, water parks and lots of special events throughout the year.

Add to this, the fact that the vast Lake Geneva is at just 40 minutes' drive away, offering all the water-sports you could wish for, plus the airport being less than an hour's drive from Essert Romand and you will agree that this is the perfect location for a home in the beautiful Haute Savoie, whether for a primary residence, a holiday home or a superb investment.

If you are looking for a holiday home  or an investment property in the Portes du Soleil, Alpine BC are delighted to offer a wide range of apartments and chalets for sale in this region.

Created in conjunction with Burton, the Avoriaz Stash run is the only one of its kind in Europe and it comprises 3 slopes of varying difficulty, punctuated with hidden wooden obstacles that riders happen upon with each descent. The area is left un-pisted and all the obstacles are made entirely from wood. (Total length = 1300m, vertical drop = 470m).
