Saint Sorlin d'Arves is a traditional Savoyard village in the Maurienne Valley, with an all-year-round community and just two hours from Chambery and Grenoble airports.

Its collection of age-old houses and farms has not been spoiled with the addition of newer buildings, which are in keeping with the local architecture. With its baroque church and long- established shops including the formagerie, boulangerie and craft-centres there is plenty to see and do both in winter and summer.   The location of Saint Sorlin d'Arves offers spectacular views of the magnificent Aiguilles d'Arves and the village is surrounded by amazing peaks.

The skiing is varied with plenty of choice for all levels of skier and rises to a magnificent 2620 metres, ensuring that the snow stays for longer than in many other ski resorts.  Added to this the sunny location and you have the best of both worlds.

The best off-piste at Saint Sorlin d'Arves is at  Les Perrons, where the more challenging skiing is to be found but this region is a paradise for the intermediate skier with superb long reds down uncrowded slopes and the village is supremely family-friendly,  with an excellent ski school and nursery slopes right by the centre.

As well as the varied skiing in Saint Sorlin d'Arves, there are other winter activities to enjoy - parapenting, dog-sledding, horse-drawn carriages, tobogganing and snow-shoeing to name but a few.

In the summer there is plenty of activity too - fantastic mountain-biking through woods and over pastures (plus the Tour de France passes through the village every other year) climbing school, tennis, riding, rafting, paragliding and walking with spectacular views, plus there is a small lake for trout-fishing at the top of the village.

Children are well-catered for at this time of year too with many activities throughout the warm months and including a children's workshop.

If you are looking for a holiday home  or an investment property in an up-and-coming region of the French Alps,  Alpine BC are delighted to offer a wide range of apartments and chalets for sale in this region.
